Beachdown Festival 2009 - lineup announced

Yet another music fest to add on to your busy schedules, guys!

Now in its second edition, and fresh from being shortlisted as one of the best British New Music festivals at the UK Festival Awards last October, the four-day-long Beachdown Festival 2009, which will run from August 28th to August 31st in Brighton, has unveiled its line-up.

Among the acts taking part are good old timer DJ Norman Jay, Hip Hop dinosaurs Sugarhill Gang and GrandMaster Flash, post-Acid House proclaimers Saint Etienne , erstwhile Mod revivalists Secret Affair and punk mavericks The Fall.

But among all these usual suspects, are plenty of (contemporary) newbies for you to check out, from Brighton new wave disco quartet Transformer, to new Rock Queen Ida Maria, blue-eyed funkster Lack of Afro, and Israeli turntablists The Apples, to name a few.

And to top this exquisite all funk and punk bill are almighty Welsh psyche rockers, Superfurry Animals and Liverpudlian quintet The Zutons.

All tickets are weekend ones only, and a limited number of early bird tix are still available for £85 (+ booking fee) including free camping. Tickets normally cost £97.50 (+ booking fee)...
