Nominations are out, with some categories casting very awkward ballots:

Oasis are nominated for both Best British Band alongside Muse and Radiohead, and Worst British Band alongside Tokyo Hotel and The Jonas Brothers....

Peter Doherty is running for Best Solo artist, without having even released his solo album yet ...!

Again, while the NME world counts endless cuties, votes for Sexiest Male are set on Doherty and Miles Kane of The Last Shadow Puppets!!!

Still, there are some honourable nominees: Kings of Leon for Best International Band, Glasvegas for Best New Band, The Ting Tings for Best Track, Dizzee Rascal & Calvin Harris for Best Dancefloor Filler, London Astoria (sniff...) for Best Venue, Barack Obama for Hero of the Year, etc....

The Awards ceremony will take place at Brixton Academy on February 25th, followed by the Big Gig at the O2 Arena on February 26th, headlined by this year's Godlike Genius award winners The Cure.
