Event Information

Yorkshire born troubadour Elaine Palmer has released three critically acclaimed albums, 2017’s ‘Still Life’, 2019’s ‘Desert Songs’ and 2021’s ‘The Land In-Between’. She’s now set to release her fourth, ‘Half Moon Rising’ recorded in San Diego with producer Mike Butler (Norah Jones/ Ray La Montagne/ The Pretenders), featuring Bobby Furgo (Leonard Cohen), Matt Lynott (White Buffalo), Dave Berzansky (Hacienda Brothers), Patrick McClory and Dave Brezansky. Over her career to date she has toured the UK extensively, along the way sharing stages with KT Tunstall, Courtney Marie Andrews, Patty Griffin, Paolo Nutini and many more.

Elaine has received substantial radio support, withBob Harris, Iain Anderson and Eve Blair all declaring themselves fans of her work. In 2019 she received an outstanding award at the Phoenix Film Festival in America for Best Original Soundtrack for her music on the independent film SHK.

‘Her music has textures of New Country while being authentic, dark and edgy. I believe that if there is some possible way that Karen Anne Carpenter, Stevie Nicks and Jonny Cash had a child together, that child would be Elaine.’ NE Volume

‘A rich and powerful voice that ranges from a subtle whisper to a full-blown bluesy edge, she writes incredible songs that stand-up to repeated listenings’ Maverick Magazine

‘With a beautifully conversational voice, an unerring sense of melody and a bittersweet and wistful repertoire, Elaine Palmer is undoubtedly a talent’ MOJO Magazine

Think of OUR MAN IN THE FIELD, AKA Alexander Ellis, as an independent correspondent, with his works dispatches from his travels. So classically crafted are Ellis’ songs that you could be forgiven for thinking you’ve heard Our Man In The Field somewhere before. Taking inspiration from the alt-Americana and Caledonian soul stylings of Van Morrison, Neil Young, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Ryan Adams and Wilco, his sound is indefinable yet familiar- its introspective, intimate and deeply soulful style stands comfortably alongside modern day artists Ray LaMontagne, Damien Rice and Joe Purdy.
