Live Review

One of the finest names in punk music graced Sheffield to play one of their finest live sets, despite only having two original band members present, The Buzzcocks were on good form. For a venue that was probably a lot smaller than they have the potential to fill, it was surprising to see it only just over half full. If you're under the impression that this put a dampener on the night though - you're much mistaken. The crowd present ranged from teenage wannabe punks to the original thing - those that were no doubt around when this punk band first emerged.

Flying through an angst ridden set of both fan favourites and live favourites it could most definitely be argued The Buzzcocks are still doing what they do best. The highlights of the night probably began from the second half of their set which consisted pretty much of a Buzzcocks greatest hits set with the likes of: 'What Do I Get', 'Promises' and 'I Don't Mind'. The set came to its finale in the only way it possibly could with 'Ever Fallen In Love With Someone You Shouldn't Have Fallen In Love With' followed straight after by a proper punk fuelled rendition of 'Orgasm Addict'.

The Buzzcocks are by far one of the finer bands that have come out of the UK and are one that newer bands should learn from.
