Flogging Molly Live Review @ Wulfrun Hall (Wolverhampton) - 29 Nov 2011
Live Review
Right from the word go this show was always going to be one to remember, launching with live favourite 'The likes of you again', Flogging Molly were on top form. Performing an hour and a half set which consisted of greatest hits and tracks from the latest album 'Speed of Darkness'.
The mass of foot stamping, arm punching and dancing showed nothing more than pure devotion from the fans watching in the crowd. At one point even the unexpected was witnessed when Irish frontman Dave King threw two cans of Guinness to the crowd shouting: "This is a rare thing for an Irish man, share them around." If Flogging Molly's love for their fans and playing live wasn't already apparent it was made more so, with the announcement that the drummers wife "Is back in Ohio due to pop at any day." Appreciative crowd stomping erupted showing praise that these Irish punk rockers had put tonight's show before that.
Highlights of the show definitely came from tracks 'Selfish Man', 'Black Friday Rule' and 'Seven Deadly Sins'. With their amazing guitar solos Flogging Molly have proven yet again that there will always be a place in music for them. The set ended with the Irish rockers departing the stage to no doubt enjoy a dozen or more Guinness's - and so rightly so!
