Single Review

Zambian-born and Danish-raised MC Lucy Love released her new single 'Thunder' on August 8th and to be brutally honest it is so bad it makes Rebecca Black sound like a genius, even if they are totally different styles. The single comes backed with more remixes and edits than you can shake a stick at, with each one slightly worse and more tedious than the previous one.

After spending time in Croydon she ventured in to London's night clubs and immersed herself in the UK Dance scene and that might have been the catalyst that has made her a major star back home in Denmark. The new single has been released through Lucy's own record label Superbillion, and it makes her yet another artist deciding to ditch the major labels and go it alone.

Lucy Love makes the sort of music weekends are made for, or does she? 'Thunder' is what many twenty- something's out on a drink and drug infused Friday or Saturday night would call 'A banging tune', but let's be honest if you were to take music advice from the sort of people who listen to Radio 1 and whose brain can only digest a repetitive beat with a few words chucked on top then you are in trouble. And do not think "oh well the remixes might be better" cause they are not in any way shape or form, in fact they are worse.

Fortunately for Lucy Love Dance music reaches huge audiences worldwide and with clubs and festivals being the best way to broadcast your music to the masses I think it could be this summer's big club anthem, but for me it's about as enjoyable as stomach cramps and leaves me reaching for the off button.
