Live Review

For a band that is rather new to the music scene, they already seem to have quite a lot of hype surrounding them. The main sign of this tonight is the huge amount of support the crowd give them. As soon as they took to the stage there were beach balls lobbed about and lots of cheering.

Tonight is a rather special occasion for Van Susans; it's the launch party for their EP 'This Could Be Scenery'. Not only is it being held at one of London's most famous music venues, which they are the headline slot for, it is also a sold out show. Something that every one of the band must be proud of. After all it's not every day a band from Bromley achieve such things.

It could hardly go unnoticed that whilst introducing themselves this band seemed somewhat nervous. Whether it was because they had such a large crowd or the pressure of some of the world famous musicians whom have previously played on the same stage it is unknown. All that does matter though is when it came down to the most important thing, the music, Van Susans definitely delivered.

Highlights of their set came from the new EP tracks 'Cha Cha Bang' and 'Bones'. They were tight and were easily better than a lot of bigger bands are live. Another factor with this band that it would seem unfair not to mention is their loyalty to their fans. Banter with them in between songs and a general happy-to-be-there vibe proves these Bromley lads appreciate it all and make the most of the chances they are given.

If you haven't caught them live yet, then what the hell are you waiting for?!
