Korean Cinema revels in the post-punk genre: spiky guitars, furious choruses. Gang of Four influences are obvious, so all great on paper, but do they live up to early expectations?
Sadly not. The singing is sometimes too thin to match up to their heavy melodic backing. Which is disappointing as Korean Cinema are making some interesting sounds. 'Polka Party' may not actually have any polka involved but it's as good as many of the other gloomy indie bands around at the moment. They just need time to refine their art and they may be ready to challenge for the top.
