Lay It On The Line - Fraser Single Review
Single Review
'Lay It On The Line' from Indie poppers, Fraser, is a good challenger to Mirrorkicks for single of the year. It is a mellow song, with vocals and music that is definitely familiar, but in a soothing way. It is structured in a way that is purposely designed to be uplifting, and reminds this reviewer of 'Del Amitri' when they were on full throttle. It is a song that sets everything out on the table and is the definition of what Nirvana might have called a 'Radio Friendly Unit Shifter.' Again these sound like disparaging remarks but don't get me wrong - this song is very good, bordering great at times, with their musical ability shining through; this band knows how to write a chorus. It's a song that should get major radio play and I am a firm fan of these guys now, great single.
