Album Review

"So what's it all about then?
It's a rave Dave......
Just lots of people, in a room, spreading love and listening to tunes, its a rave Dave"

Wise and emotive words from Trash Fashion's debut album, 'Nights of Error' which is set to be released on Propaganda Records. The band originally hail from Birmingham, who class themselves as "Warehouse Rockers" and are a young four piece consisting of, Jet Storm, Mason Storm, Jimbo Ready and Bam Bam (yes, he's the drummer).

Rock and Roll indeed.

Now I'm not sure if this is a wind up, a reality TV show's end product which has gone even more horribly wrong than was planned or perhaps just a stroke of genius by the record company! I fear it's a combination of the above.

'Nights of Error' is a mix of 90's disco, house, punk, rave and hardcore electro sounds set to, at times, almost laughable lyrics. Many influences, perhaps too many, can be heard throughout the album. The likes of The Prodigy, Daft Punk, Prince,The Shamen, Michael Jackson and even a bit of Human League are in there for me. Blended together, its fast tempo, hundred mile an hour stuff with a somewhat quirky feel. "12 tracks of dance floor party essentials", their words not mine.

Their latest single, also entitled 'Nights Of Error', has just been released to co-inside with the album launch. Also appearing on the album is a remixed version of their underground hit 'Rave Dave'( and I swear he's taking the rise in a 'Only Fools and Horses' way) . Other 'stand out' tracks include 'Beat Goes Round' and 'Mom and Daddy'.

It's crazy stuff and they certainly appear crazy but if they take themselves seriously all I can say is good luck to them.

They are spreading the Trash Fashion word, touring heavily in the UK in October and November. With 25,000 friends on Myspace already, this could be "bubblegum metal" for the nations future. Certainly value on the novelty front is very 'high'.

I will leave it with you.....
