Live Review

The second day of T in The Park saw Rage Against The Machine returning to the festival after a fifteen year absence, Jack White's side-project The Raconteurs on the second stage and an appearance from Reverend & The Makers in King Tut's tent.

The Good

Rage Against The Machine lived up to their legacy with a typically enigmatic display featuring all their classics. Opening with 'Testify' they played an hour and a half set which included band vocalist Zach De La Rocha telling the jam packed crowd to "Burn American embassy offices". Biggest cheers of the night were reserved for encore track 'Killing in the Name of', whilst 'Sleep Now with the Fire' and 'Bullet in the Head' proved popular too. Biffy rocked main stage, producing songs mainly from their award winning album 'Puzzle'. Reverend & The Makers shook King Tut's tent with their in your face indie sound, although they subside after an initial explosion onto the stage.

The Bad

Raconteurs successfully sent the crowd to sleep during their NME stage performance. The band have only had one major hit and clearly struggled to hold their own for an hour. Even well known 'Steady as She Goes' proved a real snore fest. Wish I'd seen Fratellis on main stage frankly. The Feeling are a band just not made for festivals. They performed ok, but they couldn't form a rapport with the audience whatsoever.

The Ugly

The toilet situation has severely deteriorated since Friday. As pungent as Fratellis new single, the latrine styled portaloo's made toilet usage slowly become a phobia.

As the day drew close, the crowd flocked back to their accommodated homes tanked up on the £3.30 a pint tennents lager. Many were still talking about Rage's phenomenal set and whether R.E.M could better them. Apparently Biffy also left in a helicopter piloted by Will Young. I always thought he would be better suited to a new career.
