Underneath - Alanis Morissette Single Review

Single Review
Alanis Morissette re-emerges with 'Underneath', off her new flavorless concoction, 'Flavors of Entanglement'....
And how premonitory a title this is- the single is underneath expectations: overproduced and bluntly dull; "Bland and Blander" would be a more adequate title for it.
Alanis has lost her golden touch, ever since her superfly 'Jagged Little Pill' in 1995... 13 years on and it seems that the "JL Pill" no longer kicks in, and that (excuse the cheap play on words), telling from this sonic snippet, Miss Morissette's creativity is entangled in flavorless circles!
You'd think a talented songwriter like her would know better... Mixing the best of pop production (Guy Sigsworth "ambienced" for Madonna and Bjork) with the worst of flop promotion (Sean McGhee is responsible for some of the "sounds" by Enrique Eglesias and Britney Spears, among other nameless disasters).
Morissette "Oughta Know" and "Learn", but "Ironic"-ally, she forgets that a one hit wonder is better that three successive disasters.
For earsake, Alanis, get a grip!
