Floods - Fightstar Single Review

Single Review
Despite its delayed release, 'Floods' has been received well by press and fans alike. Originally billed as Fightstar’s second single, the keyboard led song is based around how environmental issues affect different people. The song reached number two in the U.K rock chart, and lead singer Charlie Simpson’s use of keyboard far surpasses his occasionally deafening guitar work. The softer vocals during the verse and thumping drums in the chorus are common within Fightstar’s back catalogue, but with the guitar being slightly less domineering you can appreciate their work on a greater level. This is as good a song as Fightstar have ever written, maybe even enough to banish the ‘Busted’ past which still plagues him to this day.
With song like this, Fightstar can make a bigger impact in mainstream music as well as rock. Best track on ‘One Day Son, This Will All Be Yours’ by far.
The single also features four additional faded tracks, including an acoustic version of floods.
