Audio - The Splendour Single Review

The Splendour
Single Review
‘Audio’ is the latest track to be released by Brighton’s indie band The Splendour. It comes from the band’s debut album ‘The Best Way to Make Money’ which will be available on Tinyclan records from August.
‘Audio’ is a basic indie track sounding rather Franz Ferdinand-esque with the vocals. The track is pretty average until the chorus kicks in, which comes laced with addictive lyrics and toe-tapping instrumental work. It comes across as an enthusiastic song and shows the band are no amateurs. The short instrumental they works a charm and is a great build-up to the chorus.
Also featured on their single is ‘Put Me Into Bed’ which contains the same low-key build up in the verses, yet the bands ability to create great choruses means this combines really well and makes The Splendour sound such a strong act. Something the band achieve in their music is they seem to have a personality, which indie tends to lack nowadays. The music they’ve made is enthusiastic and contains real promise.
After a few listens to this single you become a real fan of the band. It’s not slow based indie laced with meaning, and it’s not something that you’re going to dance to all night. Yet The Splendour show raw talent and have taken a Franz Ferdinand style but perfected it. Top single and great b side track to accompany. Go and buy upon release!
