Sleeping Pills - A Silent Film Single Review

A Silent Film
Single Review
If A Silent Film fails to get the musical world to sit up and take notice of their talents through their debut single ‘Sleeping Pills’ then it will be fitting given the title and the nature of this soothing track.
But despite the clear Keane-esq comparisons, there is certainly something very refreshing about this piano/guitar centric band, who are making progressive strides following on from their opening album ‘The City That Sleeps’.
‘Sleeping Pills’ is, in essence, quite slow and almost poignant at times and certainly stirs your emotions but aside from these calming melodies, the underlining energetic drum beats keep this one from fading into insignificance.
You might find similarities with Coldplay while they’re also said to have drawn influence from Massive Attack. And it’s easy to see why. But overall I would say this creative four-piece have found their own place in which to shine any comparison is only with something that proved popular and successful.
