Parallel Worlds - Elliot Minor Single Review

Elliot Minor
Single Review
Elliot Minor has caused debate throughout the whole music community. Despite their claims of being a rock band and their close affiliation with Kerrang!, many have seen them as just another pop band. Either way, 'Parallel Worlds' proves to be a catchy number, utilising the vocal talents of guitarist 'Ed Minton' and front man 'Alex Davies'. It features the characteristics of a 'Mcfly' song, using meaningless lyrics with modest instrumental work. However, the band's use of guitar is what has brought them amongst the rock community. 'Parallel Worlds' features a nice solo from the band, and despite their classic background of using violins and Chellos, they have guitar ability which exceeds most pop bands and a number of indie groups.
Seems a strange re-release by Elliot Minor's record label as despite four (now five if you count the re-release) singles being produced, the album isn't due out for another month. The previous success of 'Parallel Worlds' back in the late part of 2007 means it's unlikely to achieve anything drastic by making it available again. Worth a listen for fans of power-pop like 'Paramore' and anybody still obsessed with the 'Busted' era.
