Unplugged In New York - Nirvana DVD Review

Nirvana
DVD Review
As a Nirvana enthusiast, the release of Nirvana unplugged was long overdue. After 14 years from the band's original performance in New York, the full concert finally became available just before Christmas last year.
The DVD features the full 14 song set, which includes a phenomenal cover version of David Bowie's 'Man Who Sold The World', and fan favourites 'Come as You Are' and 'All Apologies'. Nirvana come across beautifully on acoustic, with Kurt Cobain's vocals being expressed far different from Nirvana's previous work. Other songs included in the set are covers of Meat Puppets 'Lake of Fire' and 'Plateau', while 'Where did you Sleep Last Night' finishes a truly memorable event. The DVD bonuses include five rehearsals before the concert starts, which include 'Polly', as well as interviews with band members and people attending the concert.
It is definitely one of the most breathtaking acoustic performances I've seen, and a great memento to a band who cannot make a bad album.
