Bob Sinclar

Single Review

I have to admit that it was with eager anticipation when I opened up my post and the new single from Bob Sinclar and Steve Edwards popped out. Having listened to some of Bob's work on 'Live at the Playboy Mansion' I settled down for a treat. The all important first reaction was "what the hell is this?" I took it out of my CD player check yes it's the correct CD and put it back in for another play.

Listening to the radio edit it sounded like a bad version of 'Don't Worry Be Happy' given a europop dance makeover. You don't take it very seriously when Steve Edwards is singing about "See that man with a pen and gun? Says it's over for everyone (oh no)", you want to say yes do it now I want it to be over. Okay time for a cup of tea and a calm down.

Back to the review moving on to the next track the club version. With the addition of a few more beats and the extended length of the track at almost 8 minutes it give this a more happy laid less intense feel than the cheesy europop of the radio edit.

My mood being much improved before I decide to embark on the final track the Steve Edwards Acoustic Version. What a revelation, Steve's soft voice delivering these lyrics sounds like he is pleading to the listener to make the world a better place. With gentle guitar rhythms and a recorder like wind section, giving a gentle Caribbean feel to the music. The unfortunate thing is I think people will only ever get to hear the radio edit!
