Chasing The Light - Amy Studt Single Review

Amy Studt

Single Review

There were high hopes for Amy Studt to be the British Avril Lavigne back in 2004 with the release of her teen-angst fuelled singles 'Just A Little Girl' and 'Misfit' but then she seemed to vanish off the face of the planet after being dropped by her label.

Now, years later she has re-appeared with 'Chasing The Light' the next single to be taken from the new album 'My Paper Made Men' out in April. While Alanis Morissette might be the obvious reference point for anything that is sang by a strong voiced female with a rock tinged edge, Amy Studt is actually doing something far more modern and interesting than people are giving her credit for.

'Chasing The Light' is a full-blooded epic which bristles with emotion and shows both growth and ambition from the young singer-songwriter and although this song is not going to go straight into the charts at number 1, it's a good indicator of where she is headed.
