Single Review

On its first release, Grammy Winner 'End Of The Road', lifted from album 'Cooleyhighharmony', won all kinds of awards, and rightly so. It was one of the best love ballads of the 90s.Going straight in at number one in the UK as their debut single in autumn 1992, it became the favourite end of night smoochie. Brothers Nathan and Wanya Morris, Shawn Stockman and Michael McCarey went on to sell millions of albums world-wide, including their recent top tenner Motown: Hitsville USA.

For the a capella version it reunites Nathan, Wanya and Shawn who are set to wow crowds with their March UK tour.

As a 'live' rendition, I'm certain it'll work brilliantly, but why release it as a single? It lacks the musical beauty of the original, despite the concerted efforts of the trio, which for me at least, does no justice to the most successful R&B male vocal group ever, according to sales.

If it works, don't fix it.
