Yuri - Oi Va Voi Single Review

Oi Va Voi
Single Review
Despite the subject matter of Oi Va Voi's latest single obviously being crafted as homage to Russian cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin, there is a distinctly prominent Jewish feel to the tracks music planting the notion that this track would be of little commercial viability in the main. Oi Va Voi's diverse band member mix however, novelistic, simplistic approach to its musical orchestration and fluid lines will result in club-goers of all ages filling the dance floors and rocking the night away.
Sounding like the unfortunate gate crashing of a bahmitsfa by a rather inebriated DJ, the tracks rambling, twitchy acoustics and electronic beats get the pulse racing and the foot tapping at a rapid pace. Synthesised vocals, harmonised at times, bleat out in a monotone fashion conveying the reincarnated thought and feelings of a once great man. But like most novelty records, will Oi Va Voi just be another flash in the pan?
