Nelly’s Furtadio’s third album Loose, has defied expectations, as due to the co-production touches of Timbaland a hip-hop direction was largely expected to be followed. This single, especially, flies in the face of those predictions, taking on a more low-key acoustic led path elevating a longing, clear and mature vocal projection.
This song is obviously stock-taking time for Nelly, as she soothingly hits out at selfish people, carelessness and promotes the cause of fate. Although, as the song builds up to a lush plateaux, there is nothing careless about this 29 year old Canadian’s approach here.
