It's Not About You - Scouting For Girls Single EP Review

Scouting For Girls
Single EP Review
The piano-centric Scouting For Girls bring together an array of joyous yet emotional melodies in their charming debut EP, ‘It’s Not About You’, and you’ll find it very hard not to be swept along by it all.
Although some would argue the lack of a lead guitar is a weakness, I feel it allows them to develop their own unique cutting edge, which at the moment works a treat in comparison to what is already out on the market.
The title track certainly has more than enough musical strength running through it and the gleaming jovial sounds and lyrics perfectly epitomise their free-spirited nature and desire to stay young and eclectic.
Infectiously cheerful, there are occasionally shades of Ben Folds Five about their rhythms and harmonies – especially during the other songs on this EP, ‘Keep On Walking’ and ‘Mountains Of Navaho’ – and it’s just so uplifting to hear a new group of pop-rock ‘piano-experts’ with the ability to inspire us all.
