Living Is A Problem Because Everything Dies - Biffy Clyro Single Review

Biffy Clyro
Single Review
Intense, irresistible, innovative genius. The Scottish trio will stop at nothing to bring pristine and ambitious hooks to our alternative music scene blowing other bands right out of the water. This five-minute giant is overflowing with apprehension as it begins with spontaneous full band stabs that will cut listeners in half. I can only imagine the kind of excitement that would possess a pit of Clyro pilgrims witnessing this live.
Living is a problem is packed full of sophisticated layers battling for well earned space in a mixture of driving bass lines and manic melodies. There are also special treats for all from Sin City’s Graeme Revell who’s string arrangements and Baroque-like choirs weave between the wall of guitars jumping up at you with violin shrieks and choral groaning. They really add the finishing touches to the single’s soundscape of tension and drama.Biffy’s work has always been outrageously different and for a lot of us this is why we are drawn to it. Living Is A Problem stays true to their style but with more passion and presence than ever before. Not many bands have the balls for such a single even though we: the consumers are screaming out for change, but it is a joyous occasion when songs like this crop in to the mainstream market.
