These ‘Crazy’ Horses Lack The Hair But Most Of All The Balls

Whilst cloning sheep was disputable, especially when poor ‘Dolly’ got lung disease because of the DNA that was used to build her, I am afraid to inform you that the decision has been made to now clone horses instead. Side effects include: lack of originality, limited attributes for the showroom and a clear disfigurement from their predecessors.

Their debut UK single ‘Funeral’ starts with a monotonous, un-inspiring guitar line accompanied by what can only be defined as an exasperated attempt of what Jim James from ‘My Morning Jacket’ does- in his own right, so well. Please note that I am not commenting on the similar drowning reverb effect glued to each voice, but to the kindred attempt of melody and tone.

Although ‘the funeral’ picks up after the second verse, this is merely a dynamic observation, especially when compared to the sheer driving force of a ‘Jacket attack’, which is present throughout ‘One Big Holiday’ amongst other limitless examples.

After another motionless repeat of the introductory verse and a laborious couple of chorus’, the listener should be entitled to a bit of excitement but again, they should probably look elsewhere. Instead one is rewarded with a drum count in to what can only be described as a dull, chorded interval with no attention to detail at all. Lovely.

Lets hope someone has the decency to put these horses down after a long uninspired day at the races. May their single ‘rest in peace.’
