‘The Black Parade’ is a fantastic album. I should know- I screamed it on Tuesday along with a large group of people at the SECC.
However, there is one chink in its otherwise invincible armour- this single.
Whilst the other songs have some form- at least- of emotion in them, this one somehow lacks it. Of course, Gerard is on fine form in his singing, and the guitars and drums make this good enough to be remembered, but it has NO emotion- the ‘angst’ Way is meant to be pouring out is nowhere.
However, other than that, this is a great single. It has catchy enough lyrics, is easy to sing along to and has a great tune. The only reason it gets the mark it gets is because of the lack of emotion.
