Single Review
Rock is at its best when it is quirky, look at Pink Floyd, Sonic Youth and more recently Mando Daio. Wouldn’t it be nice if an outfit merged the impact of these three expansive and honest outfits together to create atmospheric soundscapes, feel good backing and drawn out vocals that bear out life. Well, the 1990s are way ahead of us. For this bounding A-side there are so many ups and downs that the CD should be accompanied by a saddle for safety purposes.
A cosmopolitan, gliding, NewWave is the centrepiece of the provocative B-side Super Legal, incorporating a punchy Male/female vocal chemistry. The slow and moody four minute plus, Sonic Youth styled sojourn of Diablo must have been recorded in a dank, smoky setting? The 1990s show here that they have a firm blues rock bass that they are not afraid to wonder off almost aimlessly from, to give them a bit mystery.
