Single Review
The bracing indie/soul diva continues to pick the fruits from her fresh and funky debut album. This single uses a horn section to bleating effect and to push along the poetic and crystal cries of Corinne, reaching Aretha Franklin proportions at times. It also bears out life and reflection. The bold and ranging accompaniment suits the weighty vocal projection and shows up the strength of this reflective songstress. It is a little surprising as to why this song is one of the last to be released from her roving debut album. It gives some indication as to the strength of the album and helps modern female music to move away from KT Tunstall, thank God!
