How Come is the latest single taken from debut album Trouble, and shows some variation from the title track of the afore-mentioned album, in it's laid back country/ rock vibe, whereas the single Trouble was an out-and-out bluesy Northern soul-esque piece.The lyrics reflect the current "we're all doomed"/ distrust in politicians which seems to have been afflicting the World over the past few years, with lines such as:
How come I can't tell the free World from a living hell?
The groove is held in place by an acoustic guitar gently strumming away, punctuated by country-sounding electric guitar (think: backing music for a Sheryl Crow song, and you'll get the idea), topped off by Ray's alternating laid back/ pleading lyrics, in which he either tells it like it is, or wonders what's wrong with the World.
How Come is featured in the film The Devil Wears Prada which is currently showing in the UK.Gigs
