Single Review

OCS have had an eventful 15 years together, weathering drugs, drink, break-ups, and destructive record companies, admittedly a strong blow to any band. However it wasn't all bad and perseverance proved worth it, with the reward being deserved critical acclaim and chart success, and now the band have made a name for themselves, standing out from their peers with their views on politics, their fashions and all round quality music. They are obviously doing something right as they are back with 7th album "A Hyperactive Workout For The Flying Squad" and first single to be taken from that album "Free My Name."

The single oozes abstract guitar lines, which mingle amongst the drumbeats like someone circulating at a book launch and is topped with raw vocals sweeping across catchy chorus lines.

The band have not lost their meaningful nature, on one level "Free My Name" is a simple song about how it feels to be in love, but on a deeper level sends out a profound message that love should set you free not make you feel caged in.

Strongly catchy but not to realms such as "The Riverboat Song," or "The Day We Caught The Train."
