I swear on the Headbanger's Bible that you'll enjoy this one.Firstly,kick granny out and make some space,then it's time to soundproof your house and blast the night away.By the way,this is also perfect for cruising down the motorway.Under one title,Headbanger's Bible,this is one of the best rock collections available.Featuring some of the seminal rock-riffs across the decades,Warner have really done their homework on this one.Coming in at a whopping 172 minutes,you'll be suitably impressed with the bands and tracklisting.In their time,these were some of the hottest anthems around.Memories come flooding back when the bands ruled the world with their sometimes outrageous barnets and stage gear,lead by incomparable Vincent Furnier,aka Alice Cooper on School's Out,his first and last chart topper in 1972.Ace axemen Richie Blackmoore,Tony Iomi,Joe Walsh,Paul Kossoff,Ted Nugent and Brian May show how it's done on All Night Long(1980),Paranoid(1970),Rocky Mountain Way(1977),Alright Now(1970 and 1991),Cat Scratch Fever(never charted but still an huge anthem)and Killer Queen(1974).It gives me a great thrill to hear some of these guitarists all crammed together,as I've had the great pleasure of hearing them play live.It's not all thump thump,as you get a fair representation of some stylish rock ballads such a Boston's classic More Than A Feeling(1977)Bad Company's Feel Like Making Love(1975) and Thin Lizzy's Rosalie(1978)which include some rip-roaring guitar solos.
Only one question:Why no Led Zeppelin?
