Single Review

This East Philadelphia outfit rips the balls out of Cake and plays their instruments with them, lead by the heartily soulful John Grant they combine strident pianos from the off that are juxtaposed with longing and echoing vocals as well as pulsing drumbeats. The lo-fi 'The World May Never Know' is extracted from their zapping and bold 'Easybeat' album and has a maudlin yet uplifting feel.

The band centres around Toby Leaman and Scott McMicken, who have played together before in bands such as Raccoon, Unleash the Bastards, and Beard.They create a warm sense of loneliness, as the hit out at the world, but you can't helping liking their perspective;

Someone's alone; fell asleep by the phone like a dog for a bone.
And, how could it be better fish in the sea and feel like it's alone?
The world may never know.
Dr. Dog oozes honesty from every orifice and will be sure to leave a long lasting impression upon you!
