Single Review
What better time for a pearl of the Polyphonic Spree to be released than in the height of summer? The uplifting organ fuelled and Tim De Laughter led choral style vocals of 'Hold Me Now', is the first release from the much awaited second album by The Spree 'Together We're Heavy' (out 19/07//04). This offering encapsulates everything that made the multi-numbered Texan outfit a big festival draw last year and made their debut album the feel good collection of 2002. It is colourful, ethereal and contains lyrics that will make you just want to hug the person next to you;
"Hold me now don't start shaking.
You keep me safe; you're the only one when times are tough."
With the music industry being so full of one album wonders it is refreshing to learn that when The Spree dazzled a 10,000 plus crowd at this year's South By South West festival, 2,000 people were locked out. For those who find this blatant display of life love annoying and a tad cheesy had better go and find a place to hide, as The Spree are gathering more momentum than a runaway
