Crystal Ball - Keane Single Review

Single Review
Their signature swirling, opening piano riff leads into the falsetto, heart-laden voice of Tom Chaplin and another Keane anthem is bubbling. You would have a tough job at arguing that there is anything remotely different about this searching offering that could be viewed as the second album's equivalent to Somewhere Only Know, but the offering, despite toning down lyrically is still soothing and quite masterful. Percussionist, Richard Hughes plays probably his biggest part to date, with his tingling cymbal stroking making its presence above Tim Rice Oxley’s keyboard element, at times. I think this offering is one to consolidate the already large fan base, rather than to build upon it.
