Bring It Back Again - The Earlies Single Review

Bring It Back Again - The Earlies Single Review

Single Review

This offering of dreamy, alluring and uplifting pop with a nifty electro kick takes what bands like Hal, Mercury Rev and to a lesser extent Delays are doing and places an exclamation mark next to it. The almost hymn like vocal style of Brandon Carr gives this presentation of soothing and tingling positive vibes taken from debut album 'These Were The Earlies', an ethereal quality to melt your mind into a state of bliss. The lyrics give off a mystical message about perception coming from within and are delivered with deftness;

"My eyes are closed but I can see;
Faces calling back to me, oooh they chime like bells on a Sunday morning."

This Anglo American quartet ventures into the mysterious world of instrumental experimentalism in B-side 'Sometimes Tomorrow Pt.2', as they boldly follow the path of M83 and Four Tet. This is a zappy back to nature sort of offering that, at times, greets you like the sound of the morning birds, so that all you can do is wake up to the sound of The Earlies.
