This unique London act that has been burning brightly the flame of insurrection and autonomy for years, continues to shine with this Aslan facilitated groove that shows a funkier and upbeat side to this enigmatic outfit. Larry Love (Rob Spragg) and Dr. D Wayne Love (Jake Blake), wash out their C & W tinge and replace it with weightier bass lines and chugging percussion to produce a soothing pop anthem with an R & B kick.
The song title 'Adrenaline' sums up the feeling of attending an Alabama 3 gig. A slow build up relaxes you, as the morbid almost Pearl Jam-like lyrics about being 'Sick and Tired' seep into the mind. This reflective and philosophical number is an ideal accompaniment for an early evening summers stroll. The gruff vocals on display in 'Let It Slide' give off a commanding urban vibe and substantiate the viewpoint that the Alabama 3 are showing no signs of being captured by the bug of mediocrity that catches many an established act. These guys will remain at large for years to come, hopefully.
