Single Review

The rasping provocateurs VV and Hotel Kills take the twanging blues rock riffs that helped them gain prominence in debut album 'Keep On Your Mean Side' and add more tension release and seduction. VV's Patti Smith illuminated by the spirit of Blondie vocals, gives a neat lift to this thumping pearl about the seedy and underhand aspect of tales of the heart.

It would be cavil to point out that musically it is strikingly similar to their old number 'Black Rooster'. 'Love Is A Deserter' builds up more intensity between the two protagonists and seemingly transcends the musical backdrop. This offering taken from second album 'Good Ones', aptly demonstrates that The Kills will continue to captivate critics and fans around the country with their chemistry.
