Orchestra founded in 1922, as the RAE (Royal Aircraft Establishment) Orchestral Society under the formed under the presidency Sydney Smith and original conductor Ben Lockspeiser.
The FSO serves the local community in North East Hampshire and is supported by organizations active in the district, including Rushmoor Borough Council and Slough Estates.
