A gala celebrating the life and work of Maris Liepa, a Soviet Latvian ballet dancer from Riga.
He performed in Moscow for the first time in 1950 and, after first returning to Latvia, would eventually join the Bolshoi.
After a career that saw Liepa became famous all other the world and register a number of notable television and film roles, he passed away in Moscow in 1989, aged just 52.
