Non-profit organisation set up to "promote artistic collaboration between African and western musicians and to widen the appreciation of African music and culture."
AESS have hosted stages/events including Brixton Jamm (2006), Glastonbury Festival Park Stage (2007), London Koko (2008), Liverpool Olympia (2008) and Paris (2009).
The 2012 musicians line-up for the UK leg of the tour includes Amadou & Mariam, Damon Albarn, Rokia Traoré, Kano, Baloji, Temper Trap, Rizzle Kicks, Toumani Diabate, Charli XCX, Fatoumata Diawara, Noisettes, Jupiter & Okwess International, M1 (Dead Prez) and Jack Steadman (Bombay Bicycle Club)
