- Italian composer - full name Giacomo Antonio Domenico Michele Secondo Maria Puccini (whew!). Operas include: La Bohème, Tosca, and Madama Butterfly. The aria from Turandot "Nessun Dorma" has become a commercial classic, helped in no small part to Luciano Pavarotti and the 1990 World Cup (and the fact that it is a lovely composition, of course).
