Comic ballet originally choreographed by Arthur Saint-Léon to a ballet libretto by Saint-Léon and Charles Nuittier, music by Léo Delibes.
The story is based on the inventor Doctor Coppélius and his latest creation: a lifesize dancing doll, with whom a young man, Frantz, falls in love.
