- [1916 – 1999] KBE-awarded late American-born violinist and conductor. Spent most of his performing career in the UK, became a Swiss citizen, and finally a UK citizen in 1985. As a tutor, he taught Nigel Kennedy, Csaba Erdelyi and violist Paul Coletti.
