Leeds-based indie-rock band formed in 1985. Current lineup: David Gedge - Vocals and guitar, Charles Layton - drums, Pepe le Moko - bass and vocals and Patrick Alexander - guitar.
They were originally part of the so-called indie-guitar scene "C86", with a debut album called "George Best" becoming a permanent fixture in the indie-charts and on John Peel's radio-show.
Other notable releases include albums "Bizarro" and "Sea Monsters" plus 12 singles released at monthly intervals in 1992, helping the band equal Elvis' record for most Top 40 hits in a year.
