Credit crunch or no credit crunch, 2008 seems to be an exceptional year for New Year's Eve parties, with punters able to choose between: pubs/ bars (of course), live gigs, shows, comedy, burlesque and more. We have literally hundreds of events for you to choose from - below is a small, but perfectly formed selection of shows.
Shows and Theatre
On the show-front, you have the option of a "normal" show - which won't really take you up to midnight, but you could then mosey-on-out to the nearest bar - or, in the West End, a number of productions are offering New Year's Eve specials, where an after-show is taking place take you to the magic numbers: 01/01/09 00:00.
One such show is comedy play 'Wig Out!', playing at The Royal Court Theatre, which has a post-show buffet and will feature 'Boogaloo Stu' on deck/ cabaret duties , also featuring special guests on the night. Tickets cost £60 + booking and are available now.
