On 20 October, indie folk marvel Frank Turner will release "Long Live The Queen", a Breast Cancer fundraising single.

Following the recent terminal diagnosis of ex-'Eastenders' leading lady Wendy Richard and in this month of Breast Cancer Awareness, this single is a timely release, on which Turner pays tributes to a friend of his, who succumbed to the disease.

The song itself is an upbeat and vividly commemorative ode to his friend, Lexi, who showed candid determination to beat the disease until the end.

"Long Live The Queen" is taken from Turner's critically-acclaimed second album "Love, Ire and Song", which went out last March, and which he will be touring extensively in UK and Ireland from 21 October through to 6 November. The single is out on Xtra Mile recordings on 20th October.

All proceeds from the single will be donated to the Breast Cancer Campaign charity (www.breastcancercampaign.org).

Also, in conjunction with the Breast Cancer Awareness month, Cancer Research UK has just launched a promotional video aiming to educate women on how to check their breasts for lumps or early signs of cancer - check the 'Breast Awareness Guy' link to the right. Yes, that's right 'Breast Awareness Guy' - the girls might just like this one.
