Jefferson Pepper releases volume 2 of his 'American Evolution' trilogy on 4th August. The Pennsylvania-based singer, songwriter and musician writes "Country music for people that hate Country music", and categorises his music on myspace as indie/ alternative/ Americana, shying-away from the perceived cheesiness of Country, and indeed the music on the trio of albums covers bluegrass, roots rock, punk, disco(!) alt-country, grunge and contemporary Americana.
The trio of albums encompass a potted political history of the United States in 50 songs, with subjects covering Disney World, materialism, the civil war, depression era, the Vietnam war, civil rights - inspired by Howard Zinn's book 'A People's History of the United States' and his own need to understand what has happened to his country.
The three-volume album series follow his successful political, Iraq war-based debut 'Christmas in Fallujah', where he put his voice to the America/ Iraq problems, and the spin involved in enlisting soldiers for the 'War on Terror'.
American Evolution Volume 2 (The White Album) is out on 4th August on American Fallout records.
