Al Green – October 2008 UK dates on sale tomorrow
News

Soul legend (and personal fave) Al Green, or the Reverend Al Green, to give him his proper title, has this week announced a UK tour which will see him play dates in Birmingham, Glasgow, Manchester, finishing with back-to-back London dates at the Albert Hall and Hammersmith Apollo (I know which one I want to go to!).
His impressive vocal control (both live and in the studio) can be heard on his many self-penned hits, including ‘Tired of Being Alone’, ‘Take Me to the River’, ‘Full of Fire’ and of course ‘Let’s Stay Together’ (and I hope you didn’t think that was a Tina Turner original!).
This May saw the release of latest album ‘Lay it Down’, featuring collaborations with John Legend, Anthony Hamilton and Corinne Bailey Rae, produced by The Roots’ Ahmir Khalib Thompson and James Poyser – interestingly his first top 10 US album since 1973’s ‘Call Me’.
Tickets for the tour go on sale tomorrow (Friday 27th June) at 9:00AM.
