2008's World Ceilidh Festival at Knockengorroch Farm is all set for 22nd – 25th May. Previously a three day festival, the 2008 event stretches out over the bank holiday weekend, bringing you four days of of World, fusion, Scottish and Celtic acts.

This year’s lineup includes: Capercaillie, Peatbog Faeries, Dreadzone, Banco de Gaia, Luisito Quintero band, Zion Train, Shlomo, Lojo, Daevid Allen and the University of Errors, Soothsayers, Orkestra del Sol, 3 Daft Monkeys, Tarantism, Mystery Juice, Molara,Talking Drum feat Kuda Matimba (Bhundu Boys), Sheelanagig, Tradbandits, Mungos Hi Fi Sound System, Ilhan Barutcu, Cold Up Norf Records, Roots Oracle, Frogpocket, Joe Acheson Quartet, The Assassanachs, Asazi Space Funk Explosion, Little Tito and the Wolves, Haight Ashbury, Headset Disco, Shlomo and Phil Kay plus more.

The event also boasts DJs, workshops, a Silent Disco, fire shows, walkabout theatre, children’s shows, cabaret and dance workshops.

Workshops include: stone masonry, dry stone dyking, willow weaving and renowned beatboxer Shlomo (who has recorded with Bjork) will be teaching festival-goers a beatbox trick or two.

DJs will feature in the dance tent, a silent disco, fire shows, walkabout theatre and a cabaret, dance workshops and performances and children’s activities.

There are still some tickets available – with discounts if also purchasing tickets for the sister event ‘The Hairth’ (19th - 21st September) – also held at Knockengorroch Farm in the Galloway hills (Kirkcudbrightshire).
