The Wombats to play Liverpool Echo Arena
News

The Wombats have announced that they will be playing their biggest headline show to date in their hometown – Liverpool. The guys will play the Echo Arena on 22nd November 2008, making them one of the first indie bands to play the 10,000 capacity venue. With the likes of Elton John, OMD, Michael Buble, Roger Waters, Mick Hucknall, Girls Aloud and Backstreet Boys playing the venue, they are certainly the youngest. The show will feature special guests – yet to be announced.
The trio have had a hectic few years, and will hit the road again for their spring tour on April 27th, which also sees them play at London’s prestigious Royal Albert Hall. They will also be busy over the festival season in the UK/ Ireland, playing at Liverpool’s “Sound City” event, Leeds/ Reading festivals, T in the Park, Isle of Wight, Oxegen and last but not least, the daddy: Glastonbury.
Not content with conquering the UK, the boys also head out to Europe, Japan and Australia.
Tickets for the Liverpool Arena show will go on sale at 9am on Friday 25th April 2008.
